Guided endodontics: precision access for calcified and hard-to-find canals.

Some teeth are genuinely difficult to treat - canals that have calcified and narrowed over the years, or complex anatomy that makes locating the canal a real challenge. Guided endodontics lets me plan and carry out these cases with a level of precision that simply wasn’t possible before.

When a canal is calcified or hard to find, guided endodontics takes out the guesswork. I plan the exact angle and depth from your CBCT scan, then use a 3D-printed guide to reach the canal through the smallest possible opening - protecting healthy tooth structure. Here is the technique in action.

For patients

If you’ve been told a tooth is difficult or even impossible to treat - perhaps because the canal has calcified - guided endodontics may offer a way forward. Using a 3D plan and a custom guide, I can reach the canal safely and conservatively, giving you a higher chance of keeping a tooth that might otherwise have been difficult to save. Guided endodontics means more predictable treatment, with as little healthy tooth removed as possible.

For referring dentists

Guided endodontics combines CBCT planning with a 3D-printed guide to achieve accurate, minimally invasive access in calcified or pulp-canal-obliterated cases. The technique markedly reduces the risk of perforation and excessive dentine removal when locating sclerosed canals, and makes predictable treatment possible in cases that would otherwise be high-risk or destined for extraction.
