When a root canal has calcified - narrowed or closed over - simply finding the canal can be the hardest part of treatment. Guided endodontics uses 3D planning and a custom-made guide to reach the canal through a tiny, precise path.
From a CBCT scan I plan the exact route to the canal, then use a custom 3D-printed guide that fits over the tooth to direct the instrument precisely to the canal.
Canals can narrow and calcify with age, after an injury, or under a deep filling - sometimes closing so much they’re invisible even under the dental operating microscope.
Because the path is planned in advance, I can reach the canal through a small, precise access - conserving healthy tooth and keeping the approach accurate from start to finish.
